We picked up a delicious "goose to go" here today and loved it. After the landlord brought us the sauce (we forgot) we enjoyed the roast. It was very tasty and served well with five people. LG Anke

Anyone looking for a delicious Christmas goose would do well to support the Charlottenhof team. There is nothing to regret, super delicious and very reasonable price. The goose was perfect, the side dishes topped it all off. Thank you!! Hold on, for better times!

Incredibly good food !!!! Regional cattle, fresh vegetables - very tasty. The owners personally take care of the guests, clean rooms, pleasant atmosphere - huge playground. We would love to come back !! Five stars from us 😀

A young team full of ideas, great atmosphere. Particularly noteworthy: the homegrown Koberind. Highly Recommended!!!! However, only available by pre-order. For that I would also dial an 0190 number. The rooms are clean and the hotel is excellent value for money.

Everything was great! You arrived there and immediately felt welcome. The owners were very nice and accommodating. The rooms are big and modern. The food in the own restaurant was great. Price performance was great. Large parking spaces. Breakfast very good too. I can only recommend it.

Visited the restaurant. The waitress was a very friendly man with a braid. The food was very tasty, however, a 0.5 pils beer costs a whopping 4.40 euros while a 0.5 wheat beer costs "only" 3.80 euros. I do not understand. Side salad was big and tasty. Fries fresh and homemade.

Great food last night at the 1st Wagyu Dinner. 5 courses, including 4 different preparations of the great Kobe beef from our own farm. The food was great, the service very attentive and friendly. We felt very comfortable and would love to come back.

Have driven past it many times, met a friend there today for dinner together. We haven't regretted it, on the contrary. The Charlottenhof is located on the road between Messel and Darmstadt, practically in the middle of the forest, which in terms of the atmosphere is quite different for many. A welcome change for the eyes that are used to the cities, especially in times when it is difficult to go on vacation. Due to the whole story of Corona, there was very little going on on the large terrace, reminiscent of a beer garden (probably). Nevertheless, we were greeted in a good mood by the service and the owner. The food offered there is clearly based on German, home-style cuisine, as one is used to for this type of inn. From schnitzel, rump steak, medallions to summer salad and cheese spaetzle, everything is typical, both for vegetarians and "carnivores". I am a vegetarian myself, but now and then, if the quality is right, allow myself an exception, as is the case here, where the meat in the dishes on offer comes from the associated farm. To cut a long story short: for a long time I haven't eaten as delicious out as in the Charlottenhof tonight. The portions are quite good for the price called up, so you don't have to worry about not going home full. You can spend wonderful hours with a glass of beer. I will gladly come again.

I cannot rate the hotel. Judging by the cars that hit in the late afternoon, it is used a lot by mechanics. We visited the restaurant on the occasion of our niece's enrollment. If I've seen it correctly, then they are open for us at lunchtime. We were allowed to decorate outside around and on the table reserved for us. Coffee powder was repeatedly lit to prevent the wasp plague, which also helped a little. Nevertheless, it was less stressful for us to eat inside and later enjoy coffee and cake there. This was possible without any problems, although this meant a lot of extra work for our super nice and fast service. 👍 Great for sitting outside and enjoying summer. Large spacious playground for the children. Just the right distance to the terrace, not too far and not too close. Of course, each of those present had a different opinion about the meal. It was good, but there was still room for improvement in terms of quality for my taste. The salad was great, but unfortunately not included with the meat dishes. And the espresso was really an espresso, not a small coffee. 😊 We are going back.

Very good hotel for 2 nights, very good food and super clean. Am often for the company inarmstadt but this hotel is on top for me.

We always celebrated our wedding in the Charlottenhof. It was wonderful! The whole team is incredibly nice and gave us a wonderful day! The food was delicious. We have eaten there several times and it always tasted great. Everything was very loving and you can feel comfortable there!

Ate there last night. It was great! The service was great, quick and very friendly. All wishes were fulfilled. Our steaks were perfectly to the point and really tasty. Child was happy in the playground. The seat on the terrace in the shade was very comfortable and we enjoyed the evening. we're looking forward to next time!

Great restaurant with a very dedicated team. Great meat from their own farm across the street, fried just right. The side dishes are also great. Perfect for a trip from Darmstadt, also by bike or after a day at the PVH pit. Thanks for the great evening yesterday!

We were for the first time in the restaurant or on the great terrace. We were absolutely happy. The service is super friendly and competent. All dishes were completely fresh, from the salad to the fried potatoes. There was no finished product and it just tasted good. A small drop of melancholy was the small card and the somewhat long waiting time. However, since it is a restart of the restaurant and everything was really freshly prepared, the five stars are still more than deserved. We really wish the restaurant all the best and that the quality stays that way. It was definitely not the last time we were there as guests.

We have now been here several times. The food is always delicious and freshly prepared. Service was okay. The playground invites you to play. Nice environment. In the middle of the woods. We will certainly come again and again.

Have been here to eat again for a long time. On the positive side, the staff tried very hard and was friendly Not so good is the waiting time until the food is at the table. Furthermore, the selection on the menu is very limited and nothing extraordinary. The quality of the food still has great potential for improvement. Here the new owners should read through the reviews and use them.

Great service, fair price.

Went after we'd been to the Grube Messel (just round the corner). Service was prompt and friendly and the food nice, generous portions. Deserts were also nice and refreshing. Good value for money if you're in the area but perhaps not worth a long drive.

Very nice and cozy place in the forrest. Kitchen is superb!

Nice staff, good breakfast. Wifi has good signal everywhere. Very quite place, you can have a few days off if you want to be out of noise of the city. The room is small at the groundfloor.

Nice and well tasting food, and it is more than snails. Unfortunately when it’s a full house, even a reservation limits the full menu - at least this CHRISTmas.

Very friendly and accommodating - out of the way and a good forest walk / run nearby.
